Our Structure…
There are two types of membership: Programming Board & General Body.
Programming Board members have successfully applied to the organization and received an offer to join one of our 6 committees. Internal members are expected to attend GBMs (General Body Meetings), committee meetings, and execute tailored responsibilities and tasks.
General Body members are not a part of a committee, however, are more than welcome to apply to our programs (Mentorship and Externship) and attend our Community Engagement events (Nashville MakHERs Market, Speaker Series, etc.)
Committees
Team Management:
Fosters inclusion and connection among the 35-person internal WiB team by organizing social and community events
Organizes internal mentorship structure
Manages internal communication about events and opportunities
Maintains partnerships with Owen Graduate School and WiB alumni network
Runs internal WiB recruitment and midterm / end-of-year reviews
Marketing:
Plan and execute all marketing campaigns for WiB events
Manage the organization’s Instagram, LinkedIn, and WiBsite
Collaborate with other student organizations to advertise events
Design newsletters to engage external networks (i.e., Alumni, Sponsors)
Mentorship:
Plans all aspects of WiB’s Mentorship Program, a program that matches ~20 undergraduate students with successful businesswomen across the country
Creates & leads workshops to enhance mentee experience
Maintains frequent communication with mentors and mentees about expectations and events
Plans kickoff Networking Brunch for mentors/mentees
Community Outreach:
Plan WiB’s Speaker Series event each semester
Organize Nashville MakHERs Market each semester
Spearhead WiB Annual Spring Conference
Engage Team WiB in community service
Foster reciprocal relationships with communities and partners in Nashville
Campus Engagement:
Plan events for the campus community to attend (e.g., Interview preparation, Financial literacy workshops, the Community Closet)
Manage university relations (e.g., Vanderbilt Career Center, Vanderbilt Business Minor, Owen Graduate School) and alumni relations (i.e., content for quarterly Alumni Newsletter, Alumni database)
Partner with other student organizations to enhance campus presence
Externship:
Plans all aspects of WiB’s Externship Program, an unpaid, virtual part-time internship program that accepts 25-30 students each semester
Recruits new companies each term to grow and expand the program
Plans intern cohort events throughout the semester
